Aluminium inventories dip on fewer deliveries

China's inventory of primary aluminium, including SHFE warrants, shrank to 2.08 million mt as of Thursday May 24 due to fewer deliveries to warehouses and stable downstream consumptio

SHANGHAI, May 24 (SMM) – China's inventory of primary aluminium, including SHFE warrants, shrank to 2.08 million mt as of Thursday May 24 due to fewer deliveries to warehouses and stable downstream consumption, according to SMM data. 

Inventories shrank 60,000 mt from 2.14 million mt a week ago and 40,000 mt from 2.12 million mt on Monday. The week-on-week decline was slightly greater than the decline of 58,000 mt last Thursday. 

Details are as follows:

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 853,000 mt

Shanghai – 448,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 330,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 197,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 132,000 mt

Tianjin – 62,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 29,000 mt

Chongqing – 26,000 mt
