SHANGHAI, Apr 3 (SMM) – Over 30,000 mt of #300 stainless steel and 50,000 mt of the #400 series output will be affected as a medium-sized stainless steel plant in China plans to carry out maintenance from mid-May, SMM surveyed.
Maintenance is estimated to last for a month. In the same period, nickel consumption is likely to be depressed by some 2,500 mt in metal content.
SMM believes that the plant is likely to postpone maintenance if the market for stainless steel picks up in May.
