SMM Forecast: Battery-grade & Electroplate-grade Nickel Sulfate Output in 2018

As per SMM independent research, in 2017 battery-grade nickel sulfate output reaches 209,800 tons and electroplate-grade output reaches 86,800 tons.

SHANGHAI, Dec.5 (SMM)－As per SMM independent research, in 2017 battery-grade nickel sulfate output reaches 209,800 tons and electroplate-grade output reaches 86,800 tons. In 2018 battery-grade nickel sulfate output is estimated to rise 35% on yearly basis and 5% for electroplate-grade.

The new production capacity of lithium resources will be put into operation intensively after 2022-2023, and the production may be lower than expected. It is expected that there will still be a supply shortage of 24,000 mt LCE in 2022.
