China Primary Aluminum Imports Fall 20.7 Per cent YoY in August

China imported 7,706 tonnes of primary aluminum in August, down 20.7 per cent on a yearly basis, according to China Customs.

SHANGHAI, Sept. 26 (SMM) – China imported 7,706 tonnes of primary aluminum in August, down 20.7 per cent on a yearly basis, according to China Customs. 

One Aluminum Plant in Guangxi to Restart Production Soon

China’s inbound shipments of primary aluminum were 85,436 tonnes during the first eight months of the year, down 34.55 per cent on a yearly basis. 

Environmental Drive Also Affects New Capacity in Aluminum Processing Sector

In August, China exported 240 tonnes of primary aluminum, down as much as 69.46 per cent on a yearly basis, and exports from January to August fell 33.72 per cent on a yearly basis to 10,892 tonnes, according to China Customs.
