SHANGHAI, Aug. 25 (SMM) – Despite a slight pickup in downstream purchases, overall supply in east China aluminum market remained in surplus today.

SMM Average Aluminum Price Continues Surging during Aug. 21-25, 2017

Traders were cautious about buying, SMM found. 

Rusal Optimistic over Aluminum Outlook in H2 2017 on Tight Supply in China

Mainstream traded prices were 16,190-16,210 yuan/tonne in Shanghai, discounts of 230-210 yuan/tonne over SHFE 1709 aluminum, 16,180-16,200 yuan/tonne in Wuxi, and 16,190-16,210 yuan/tonne in Hangzhou.
