Chinese Scrap Metal Market Remains Mixed, Copper Scrap Prices Decline Sharply on 11th August, 2017

The Chinese scrap metal prices mostly remained unchanged on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on August 11th, Friday.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese scrap metal prices mostly remained unchanged on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on August 11th, Friday. Aluminum, Steel and Stainless Steel scrap prices held steady. Meantime, copper scrap prices witnessed sharp decline over the previous day. Brass scrap and Bronze scrap prices too dropped when matched with the previous day.

Copper Scrap Prices

#1 Copper Bare Bright prices were down by CNY 800 per MT over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing too tumbled by CNY 800 per MT each.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery was down CNY 250 per MT to CNY 28,100 per MT. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery fell CNY 200 per MT to touch CNY 23,750 per MT.

Copper Transformer scrap prices dropped by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day. The price of Cu Yokes too has declined by CNY 50 per MT.

Cu/Al Radiator scrap prices witnessed decline of CNY 200 per MT.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices declined by CNY 100 per MT.

Heater Cores were down by CNY 250 per MT on Friday, August 11th.

Meantime, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices remained unchanged over the previous day.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

The prices of 6063 Extrusions reported no change in prices. Aluminum Ingots too were unchanged at CNY 15,850 per MT.

Meantime, prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers held steady on August 11th, 2017.

The prices of E.C Aluminum Wire, Old Cast and Old Sheet recorded no change in prices when matched with the prior day.

UBC and Zorba 90% NF prices too were flat on Index.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady at CNY 1,630 per MT on 11th August, 2017.

Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS and 304 SS Solid prices remained flat on Index.

304 SS Turning too registered no change in daily prices.

309 SS and 310 SS prices were unchanged on August 11th, 2017.

Meantime, 316 SS Solid and Shred SS prices held steady at CNY 11,850 per MT and CNY 9,800 per MT respectively.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China registered marginal decline from the previous day.

Brass Radiator scrap prices declined by CNY 150 per MT to CNY 30,250 per MT on August 11th, 2017.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices too were down by CNY 150 per NT respectively.

This week, ferrous metals were in the doldrums. The main logic during the week remained weakening cost support.
