Aluminum smelters in China are enjoying very high profit following big gains in aluminum prices, SMM finds.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 14 (SMM) –Aluminum smelters in China are enjoying very high profit following big gains in aluminum prices, SMM finds.

China Aluminum Stocks to Exceed 1.8 Million Tonnes in Q1 2018, SMM Predicts
The SMM average spot aluminum price surged another 1,160 yuan/tonne on a weekly basis to 15,462 yuan/tonne in the week ending August 11. This expanded profit further to above 2,500 yuan/tonne at domestic aluminum smelters.
