SHFE 1709 zinc opened at RMB 23,340/mt today and then rose to RMB 23,500/mt, stabilizing later on.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 4 (SMM) – SHFE 1709 zinc opened at RMB 23,340/mt today and then rose to RMB 23,500/mt, stabilizing later on. In the afternoon, SHFE 1709 zinc reached RMB 23,715/mt with growing longs entering the market, the highest from March 21, and closed at RMB 23,570/mt, up RMB 185/mt or 0.79%. Trading volumes on SHFE 1709 zinc decreased 116,000 to 333,000 lots, and positions decreased 3,472 to 184,000.SHFE 1709 zinc may stabilize around RMB 23,500/mt this evening.

Bears then reduced their open interest, and the SHFE zinc center shifted upward to a high of 23,970 yuan/mt, ultimately closing higher at 23,900 yuan/mt, up 185 yuan/mt or 0.78%. Trading volume fell to 47,019 lots, and open interest decreased by 1,040 lots to 71,016 lots.
