TAIPEI (Scrap Register): Prices for Taiwanese containerized HMS # 1&2 80:20 imports climbed further by $05 a ton to $258 a ton during the week ended July 07, according to the figures from The Steel Index.

Prices for imported ISRI grade scrap into Taiwan increased $5 a ton during the week, to $258 a ton. Taiwanese mills have had to accept higher prices as a result of higher demand in the region.

Demand for finished long products remains weak in the Taiwanese market however, and so mills are feeling the pressure of increasing production costs.
