Private iron mines and beneficiation plants in Chengde, Hebei province have been required to shut down by provincial environmental protection team which arrived July 25, SMM understands.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 2 (SMM) -Private iron mines and beneficiation plants in Chengde, Hebei province have been required to shut down by provincial environmental protection team which arrived July 25, SMM understands.

Most private iron mines and beneficiation plants in Chengde, Luanping and Longhua County had closed in late July, and will restart on August 15, SMM survey finds.

Average operating rate in the three regions was 30% in July, down 4% on the month, and will fall further to 21.7% in August.
