Primary Lead Smelters Hold Normal Production, and Secondary Lead Smelters Halve Output, SMM Reports

SHANGHAI, Jul. 31 (SMM) - Last week, most primary lead smelters reported normal production. Yunnan Chihong Zinc & Germanium cut 30% of refined lead output and will resume production to normal level this week. Most tin smelters in Gejiu, which also produce lead, closed down for a week amid environmental factor.

Secondary lead smelters in Anhui, including Huabo Renewable Resources Technology, Huaxin Lead Industry Group, Taihe Great China Metal Materials and Huanyu Lead Industry Group, halved output on high temperature. In Henan, Shandong and Shanxi, all small producers closed down in response to environmental checks, while large secondary lead smelters were not affected.
