SHANGHAI, Jul. 20 (SMM) - China’s polysilicon effective capacity will reach 290,000 tonnes in 2017, said Ma Haitian, Deputy Secretary General of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association (CNIA) Silicon Branch.

China’s polysilicon capacity reached 243,000 tonnes in the first half of 2017. China represented 56% of global total polysilicon output in the same period.

China’s polysilicon capacity will grow to 350,000 tonnes in 2018. Oversupply will intensify during 2018 and 2019.
