SHANGHAI, Jul. 20 (SMM) - Global zinc market deficit was 181,000 tonnes in the first five months of the year, narrowing from 236,000 tonnes in 2016, according to World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS).
Zinc inventories in its May’s report declined 53,000 tonnes.
NBS Releases China Base Metals Output in June
LME zinc inventories decreased 18,000 tonnes in May, and those at the end of the month were down 98,000 tonnes from late 2016.

LME zinc inventories account for 39% of global total. China’s demand weakened 0.6% on a yearly basis during January-May 2017.
