SHANGHAI, Jul. 17 (SMM) – Some large steel mills in south China launched biddings for Si-Mg alloy ahead of schedule for August. Prices to factory offered by suppliers were firm at 7,300-7,500 yuan per tonne by acceptance.

In other news, silicon plants in Sichuan said freight charges increased amid tight transport capacity. Liangshanzhou will have a one-week holiday for Torch Festival from Monday, but this will not make any impact on production.
