SHANGHAI, Jul. 13 (SMM) – On July 13, some metallurgical-grade silicon kept rising, and silicon metal plants in Yunnan held firm offers, with those of #553 at above 10,600 yuan per tonne and those of #3303 at 12,500-13,000 yuan per tonne in Kunming's market.
Traders took wait-and-see stance following price hike at Yunnan’s silicon metal plants, despite of purchase demand. Those, suffering losses due to big price gap between offers by silicon metal plants and downstream purchase prices, postponed delivery after negotiation with downstream buyers.
