SHANGHAI, Jul. 10 (SMM) – China’s aluminum output was 3.09 million tonnes in June, up 20.2% YoY, with daily output approximately 103,000 tonnes. The output from January to June amounted to 18.296 million tonnes, up 21.7% YoY.
In June, China’s operational aluminum capacities totaled 37.61 million tonnes, up 6.33 million tonnes on a yearly basis.

As of July 4, Shandong, Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia had not released the list of illegal aluminum capacities. Weiqiao Group, Xinjiang East Hope and Xinjiang Jiarun have started production cuts, totally involving about 400,000 tonnes as of July 4.
In June, Inner Mongolia Huayun New Materials started production at its 780,000-tonne aluminum line, and as of July 3, approximately 300,000 tonnes of total capacities were in operation, with the rest to come online this September. Moreover, Gansu Dongxing Aluminium, Qujing Aluminum Industry and Bomei Aostar restarted production, offsetting the cuts at Weiqiao Group, Xinjiang East Hope and Xinjiang Jiarun.
SMM predicts China’s aluminum output to reach 3.19 million tonnes in July, but the year-on-year growth is estimated to slow down to 19.3%.
