SHFE 1709 nickel opened at RMB 74,870/mt today, and briefly touched RMB 74,920/mt.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 7 (SMM) – SHFE 1709 nickel opened at RMB 74,870/mt today, and briefly touched RMB 74,920/mt. In the afternoon, SHFE 1709 nickel dipped to RMB 74,030/mt with leaving of longs and shorts increasing positions, but recovered some looses and closed at RMB 74,650/mt, down RMB 300/mt or 0.40%. Trading volumes on SHFE 1709 nickel increased 33,000 to 294,000, and positions added 9,072 to 481,000. SHFE nickel is expected to hover at lows this evening. US non-farm employment data in June are due for release this evening.
