SHFE 1709 nickel opened at RMB 75,050/mt today, and touched RMB 75,390/mt.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 6 (SMM) – SHFE 1709 nickel opened at RMB 75,050/mt today, and touched RMB 75,390/mt. In the afternoon, SHFE 1709 nickel dipped to RMB 74,650/mt, and closed at RMB 75,210/mt, down RMB 210/mt or 0.28%. Trading volumes on SHFE 1709 nickel increased 9,280 to 261,000, and positions decreased 1,254 to 472,000. SHFE nickel is expected to remain range-bound this evening. ADP employment for the US in June, the number of initial jobless claims last week and EIA crude oil inventories for the week ending June 30 are due for release this evening.

[SMM Nickel Flash] The SMM average price of 10-12% high-grade NPI fell 17.2 yuan/mtu WoW to 1,035.8 yuan/mtu (ex-factory, tax included), while the Indonesia NPI FOB index average price dropped 2.06 $/mtu WoW to 131.2 $/mtu.
