SHANGHAI, Jul. 6 (SMM) – The US and Canada reported growth in both aluminum demand and apparent consumption in May.
Malaysia Bauxite Exports to China Grow, Despite Mining Ban
According to preliminary data, aluminum demand in the US and Canada was 4.5 million tonnes in May, up 3.0% from a year ago. Demand (including domestic output and imports) for semi-finished products rose 4.0% to 3.2 million tonnes, while apparent consumption in domestic markets rose 4.1% to about 4 million tonnes.
