Jiangsu’s Suqian Concludes Probes on Pollutant Discharge from Nickel, Antimony and Thallium Producers

Suqian, a city in northern part of Jiangsu Province, completed investigations on pollutant discharge from local nickel, antimony and thallium producers, local environmental bureau reported. 

SHANGHAI, Jul. 6 (SMM) – Suqian, a city in northern part of Jiangsu Province, completed investigations on pollutant discharge from local nickel, antimony and thallium producers, local environmental bureau reported. 

The probe found that pollution discharge from nickel producers in four counties in the region was detected to miss standards, will 11 plants involved, and pollution discharge from all local antimony and thallium plants met requirements. 

One Guangxi Nickel Producer Cuts Production

Those 11 producers include 3 plants in Shuyang county, 1 in Sihong county, 4 in Suyu district in Suqian and 3 in Suzhou-Suqian Industrial Park. One of the 11 nickel producers has been required to suspend production, and the rest of them passed environmental inspections then, with waste water meeting standards after being processed.
