SHANGHAI, Jun. 28 (SMM) – After Sierra Leone bauxite landed in China for the first time in April, China began sourcing bauxite from Jamaica for the first time in May.
China imported 50,535 tonnes of bauxite from Sierra Leone in April, and imported 41,871 tonnes of bauxite from Jamaica in May, customs data showed.

China’s bauxite imports totaled 5.67 million tonnes in May, up 47.79% from a year ago and up 1.5% from April. Imports from January through May amounted to 25.17 million tonnes, up 16.25% from a year ago.
