Some silicon metal plants in Fujian plan to close after preferential electric policy ends on September 30, SMM understands.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 28 (SMM) - Some silicon metal plants in Fujian plan to close after preferential electric policy ends on September 30, SMM understands.

They plan to hoard some stocks for sale after closure.

Fujian extends preferential power policy to September 30, which was expected to end in late June.

No Impact on Silicon Metal Production in Sichuan after Landslide, SMM Reports

Low-grade silicon metal witnessed slow sales. Production and sales of high-grade silicon metal were steady. Quotes which had been lifted due to supply tightness have returned to normal levels, SMM said.
