China Stainless Steel Output to Fall by 5% in 2017

China’s stainless steel output is expected to drop by 5 per cent in 2017 on a yearly basis.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 15 (SMM) – China’s stainless steel output is expected to drop by 5 per cent in 2017 on a yearly basis, said Liu Yanping, Deputy Secretary-general of Stainless Steel Council of China Special Steel Enterprises Association.

In 2017, stainless steel output in China is expected to fall by 5 per cent from 24.94 million tonnes in 2016. China’s stainless steel capacity is estimated to grow from about 34 million tonnes in 2016 to 36 million tonnes in 2020.
