SHANGHAI, Jun. 9 (SMM) – SHFE 1709 nickel opened at RMB 72,920/mt today. China’s May PPI fell short of market expectations and April’s. SHFE 1709 nickel rose initially and then fell, falling after reaching RMB 73,200/mt, dipping to RMB 72,620/mt. In the afternoon, SHFE 1709 nickel closed at RMB 72,900/mt, up RMB 40/mt or 0.05%. Trading volumes on SHFE 1709 nickel decreased 160,000 to 277,000, and positions added 11,700 to 542,000. SHFE nickel is expected to weaken this evening.
