Imported Zinc More Desirable for Chinese Buyers, Spot Zinc Price Gap Expands between Shanghai and Tianjin, SMM Reports

The price spread on #0 zinc expanded 50 yuan per tonne between Shanghai and Tianjin on June 7 compared to June 6, with zinc prices in Tianjin 100 yuan per tonne above Shanghai prices, SMM data show.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 7 (SMM) - The price spread on #0 zinc expanded 50 yuan per tonne between Shanghai and Tianjin on June 7 compared to June 6, with zinc prices in Tianjin 100 yuan per tonne above Shanghai prices, SMM data show.

Maintenance at China Zinc Smelters to Hurt Zinc Output in June, SMM Reports

#0 zinc traded mainly in 21,820-22,100 yuan per tonne range in Shanghai, and 22,000-22,980 yuan per tonne in Tianjin market.

Imported zinc is more popular with buyers due to cheaper prices compared to domestic zinc, SMM understands.
