SHANGHAI, May 19 (SMM) – About 1.15 million tonnes of zinc concentrate will flow to China from abroad in 2017, SMM zinc analyst predicts at the SMM 2017 Lead & Zinc Summit.

Despite this, China’s zinc concentrate will still see 240,000 tonnes of deficit. Continuous zinc concentrate stock depletion constrained production at domestic zinc smelters.

South Korean media reported on November 3 that the fire at Korea Zinc’s Onsan smelter had been fully extinguished at 3:06 pm on November 2, with no casualties or leakage of hazardous chemicals.
