Silver continues to trade in the green, with prices heading for a fifth consecutive positive daily close, and according to one strategist, the metal may be able to score it.

“After a severe 12 percent correction over just four weeks, the commodity is enjoying a bounce that began on Wednesday. As we saw with crude oil, a pullback in the dollar is helping the commodity bounce from a deeply oversold condition,” noted Matt Maley, equity strategist at Miller Tabak, in a post on CNBC Monday.

Silver futures have been moving higher since mid-last week after hitting multi-month lows with July silver last at 16.74 an ounce, up 0.83% on the day. The last time silver prices saw five consecutive positive daily closes was just after the unexpected Brexit vote in June. Meanwhile, the U.S. Dollar Index hit a 6-month low Tuesday, last trading at 98.26.

Maley also pointed out that although crude oil has been suffering a similar pattern as silver, plunging in the past month, he maintains a positive outlook on both commodities. “[T]here is reason to believe today's respective bounces will continue,” he wrote.

For silver, Maley said speculative positioning seems to be moving in favor for higher silver prices.

“We'd also point out that that the Commitments of Traders data shows long positions held by speculators have fallen sharply over the past two weeks. Don't get us wrong; they haven't suddenly become wildly short. However, the positioning within silver right now is no longer anywhere near as bearish as it was last month,” he said.

“Thus, the selling pressure from this area should continue to abate, which raises the odds that this bounce in silver will prove to be more than simply a ‘dead cat bounce.’”

Chengtun Mining: Subsidiary Plans to Acquire 65% Equity in Tibet Haiteng Industrial for 709 Million Yuan
Chengtun Mining announced in an evening filing that its subsidiary Sichuan Shengfengyuan Mining Co., Ltd. plans to acquire 65% equity in Tibet Haiteng Industrial Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Tibet Haiteng Industrial") held by Liu Zongjun for 708.5 million yuan. Upon completion of the transaction, Tibet Haiteng Industrial will become a controlled subsidiary of the company and be included in the company's consolidated financial statements. According to the announcement, Tibet Haiteng Industrial holds the exploration right for the "Bagala (East) Lead-Zinc Mine Exploration in Mozhugongka County and Linzhou County, Lhasa, Tibet." The right was first established in 2003 and has undergone multiple renewals and changes. The new license was issued on August 28, 2026, with a validity period from July 28, 2026 to July 27, 2031, covering an exploration area of 42.0668 square kilometers. According to the exploration report issued by the Northwest Geological Exploration Institute of China Metallurgical Geology Bureau on September 30, 2025, in addition to lead and zinc resources, the identified silver metal content has reached the standard for a large-scale silver mine in China. The company stated: The silver metal content of the silver-lead-zinc mine to be acquired has reached the scale of a large deposit, while lead and zinc are both medium-sized deposits. The grades of silver, lead, and zinc are moderate, and the ore quality is relatively good. Upon completion of the acquisition, the company's resource ownership of silver, lead, zinc, and other metals will be effectively increased, further optimizing the company's mineral resource portfolio, expanding future development space, and enhancing core competitiveness and risk resilience. The acquisition aligns with the company's long-term development strategy, is conducive to consolidating the company's comprehensive competitive strength in the non-ferrous metals mining sector, and serves the long-term and overall interests of the company and all shareholders.

Fed's Waller Sees Reasonable Inflation, Hints at Patience; Gold Rises, Dollar Falls
[SMM Precious Metal Express] Fed Governor Waller said that next month's CPI and PPI are expected to be at "reasonable levels," and the current rate setting could bring inflation back to the 2% target, suggesting waiting for another meeting before deciding. Markets interpreted this as dovish, with traders trimming September rate hike odds from 63% to 60%. The dollar fell 0.56%, Treasury yields dropped across the curve, and spot gold rose approximately 2%.
