SHANGHAI, May 10 (SMM) – The 1st Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, opened in Beijing on May 10, restricts primary lead production in Henan’s Jiyuan and Anyang.
The restriction time is unclear yet, but some lead smelters expect it to last one week. Primary lead output at Jiyuan and Anyang will thus drop 12,000 tonnes in May from April’s level after one-week curtailment, SMM foresees.
In Jiyuan, Yuguang Gold & Lead has cut 30% of output, Wanyang Smelting Group has halved production, and 70% of output has been slashed at Jinli Gold & Lead Group, SMM surveys.
In Anyang, Yubei Gold & Lead Group has cut 30% of output, and production at Minshan Nonferrous Metals has been ramped down by 30%.
