Alumina and aluminum semis output in Henan Province, China’s major aluminum producing region, grew in Q1 2017, but aluminum output dropped.

SHANGHAI, May 9 (SMM) – Alumina and aluminum semis output in Henan Province, China’s major aluminum producing region, grew in Q1 2017, but aluminum output dropped.

Alumina output in the province rose 11.43% year-on-year to 3.27 million tonnes in Q1, 18.11% of national total; aluminum output in the province dropped 3.34% year-on-year to 728,700 tonnes, 8.89% of national total; aluminum semis output in the province increased 10.69% year-on-year to 2.95 million tonnes, 21.28% of national total, cnmn.com reported.

Aluminum associations from the United States, Europe, Canada and Japan highlighted OECD data showing that global aluminum-sector subsidies totaled USD118.3 billion during 2005-2024, with China accounting for USD101.4 billion, or 86% of the total.
