Indonesia Embargo Takes a Toll on Freeport Copper Shipments in First Quarter

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. announced export ban effective January 12 delayed shipments of 190 million pounds of copper and 280,000 ounces of gold in the first quarter of 2017, according to wenhua.com.

SHANGHAI, Apr. 26 (SMM) - Freeport-McMoRan Inc. announced export ban effective January 12 delayed shipments of 190 million pounds of copper and 280,000 ounces of gold in the first quarter of 2017, according to wenhua.com.

The company sold 809 million pounds of copper, 182,000 ounces of gold and 24 million pounds of molybdenum in the first quarter.

Its seasonally adjusted business revenue was $220 million or 15 cents per share, compared to $196 million or 16 cents per share losses during the same period of last year.
