SHANGHAI, Apr. 26 (SMM) – On a quarterly basis, Rusal reported an increase in bauxite output, but declines in alumina and aluminum production in Q1 2017, according to its latest quarterly report.
The company’s bauxite output rose 1% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) to 2,869,000 tonnes in Q1, while its alumina output dropped 2.6% QoQ to 1,889,000 tonnes and aluminum output fell 2.1% QoQ to 910,000 tonnes. Capacity utilization rates at Rusal’s aluminum smelters remained at a high of 95% on average.
