SHANGHAI, Apr. 20 (SMM) - Zinc concentrate production in Chenzhou and Huayuan, Hunan Province was restricted over the past two weeks, SMM understands.

Strict safety inspections slowed mine production. Mines produced actively as zinc prices were high previously. When combined with illegal mining, backfilling was slow. Added to that, ore grade also decreased.

Output growth at mines in Chenzhou and Huayuan will be less than 30,000 tonnes this year, SMM estimated.
