DRC Mines Minister: Without US Project Progress, Will Seek Other Partners
【SMM News Flash】Louis Watum Kabamba, the Minister of Mines of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, stated that if the mineral cooperation framework with the US fails to yield concrete projects, the country will seek other partners. "Everything we have done with the US is a framework under which we will discuss issues of mutual interest. That is all." "It could become a very good large project. It could also become another project in which they are not interested. We will move forward because there are many other partners to discuss with."

【SMM News Flash】Verisk Maplecroft Study: South America Key to West's Critical Mineral Supply Chain Shift
【SMM News Flash】A study released by Verisk Maplecroft on Thursday suggests that South America could become a cornerstone of the West's strategy to realign critical mineral supply chains. This follows the US announcement of strategic raw material reserves and efforts to establish a critical minerals trade bloc. The study assessed 10 emerging markets with major reserves of cobalt, copper, graphite, lithium, nickel, and rare earth elements. It indicates that Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Peru are at the center of opportunities to rebalance supply chains.
