SHANGHAI, Feb. 8 (SMM) – SHFE 1703 copper opened at RMB 46,780/mt today, and rose to RMB 47,600/mt on possible strike news at Escondida copper mine. In the afternoon, SHFE 1703 copper reached RMB 47,690/mt, and closed at RMB 47,660/mt.
Trading volumes increased 56,370 lots to 186,000 lots, and positions increased 2,488 to 152,000. SHFE 1703 copper should consolidate at highs this evening.
