SHFE Nickel Closes Lower (2017-1-17)

SHFE 1705 nickel started at RMB 86,090/mt and finally closed at RMB 85,220/mt, down 1.64%.

SHANGHAI, Jan. 17 (SMM) – On Tuesday, SHFE 1705 nickel started at RMB 86,090/mt and then narrowly fluctuated. During the afternoon trading, SHFE 1705 nickel dipped to RMB 84,130/mt and later regained some previous lost ground. The contract finally closed at RMB 85,220/mt, down 1.64%. Trading volumes dropped 56,000 to 507,000 lots and positions rose 9,000 to 631,000. Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance official indicated that the country will release new export tax on minerals next week.

SHFE 1705 nickel will fluctuate at lows in a short term.
