SHFE Nickel Prices down 0.7% (2017-1-6)

SHFE 1705 nickel opened at RMB 85,200/mt and finally closed at RMB 84,180/mt, down 0.7%.

SHANGHAI, Jan. 6 (SMM) – On Friday, SHFE 1705 nickel opened at RMB 85,200/mt and then increased to RMB 85,780/mt. The contract surrendered previous gains on the second trading hours. During the afternoon trading, SHFE 1705 nickel dived to RMB 84,510/mt after fluctuating briefly and finally closed at RMB 84,180/mt, down 0.7%. Trading volumes reduced 65,000 to 354,000 lots and positions fell 4,000 to 553,000. US’s nonfarm payroll report will be released on Friday night. But the data, which is expected to decline due to seasonal factor, will make limited effect on market.

SHFE 1705 nickel will fluctuate at lows on Friday’s night trading.
