SHANGHAI, Oct. 20 (SMM) – China’s aluminum semis exports, which recorded positive growth on a year-on-year basis for three consecutive months in Q3, will remain high in Q4, SMM predicts.
Chinese aluminum processors will be busy delivering goods to overseas buyers in Q4, SMM learned.
Customs data showed China exported 370,280 tonnes of aluminum semis in August, up from July’s 351,233 tonnes. SMM attributes the growth to lower SHFE/LME aluminum price ratio and cut in processing fees by Chinese aluminum processors so as to secure more overseas orders.
China exported 390,000 tonnes of unwrought aluminum and aluminum semis in September, down 20,000 tonnes from August, but up 11.4% from a year ago.
