MUMBAI (Scrap Register): Tata Steel has started exports of Tata Ferroshots from its new plant in Odisha. First consignment was sent to a Thailand on Tuesday. The new product was launched in March this year.
Tata Ferroshots mainly consists of granulated pig iron solidified by cooling in water. The product has gained a lot of interest within few months of its launch from steel industries using pig iron, sponge iron and scrap.
Its inherent properties lead to better yield, higher productivity and lower energy cost. Besides, the process of manufacturing is safe and environment friendly.
Tata Steel is setting up a 6-million-tonne integrated steel plant at Kalinganagar in two phases. The first phase, 3 million tonnes, is being implemented at an investment of Rs 25,000 crore.
