SHANGHAI, Aug. 23 (SMM) – Aluminum production in China will grow further in August due to release of new and restarted capacity, SMM expects.

SMM estimates the country’s aluminum output at 2.69 million tonnes in August, up from July’s 2.68 million tonnes.

Annualized operational aluminum capacity nationwide now totals 32.45 million tonnes, with utilization rate averaging 82.9% in the industry, SMM survey showed.
