SHFE Zinc Prices Close with Declines (2016-7-6)

SHFE 1609 zinc opened at RMB 16,570/mt last evening, and closed at RMB 16,390/mt, down RMB 115/mt.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 6 (SMM) – SHFE 1609 zinc opened at RMB 16,570/mt last evening, and closed at RMB 16,390/mt, down RMB 115/mt. Trading volumes of SHFE 1609 zinc were 223,000, and positions were down 1,630 to 225,000.

The pound dropped further today, with onshore yuan dipping below 6.68. The Shanghai Composite Index stabilized around 3,000.

SHFE 1609 zinc rose from RMB 16,350/mt to RMB 16,400/mt today. As longs increased over 7,000 in the afternoon, SHFE 1609 zinc jumped to RMB 16,620/mt and closed at RMB 16,420/mt, down RMB 85/mt. Trading volumes of SHFE 1609 zinc were up 94,000 to 502,000, and positions increased 2,716 to 229,000.
