South China will report intensified zinc concentrate tightness as operating rates at mines in Hunan’s Huayuan County remain low after restarts, SMM reports.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 5 (SMM) - South China will report intensified zinc concentrate tightness as operating rates at mines in Hunan’s Huayuan County remain low after restarts, SMM reports.

SMM understands a few mines there suspended production due to heavy rains in South China. Their beneficiation plants closed for 5 days because of raw material tightness, but have restarted.

“Zinc concentrate output is about 5,000 tonnes (Zn content) per month in Huayuan, with 2,000 tonnes (Pb content) of lead concentrate.” SMM zinc analyst said.
