The red metal later hovered around RMB 35,900/mt before closing the session at RMB 35,900/mt, up RMB 480/mt. Positions were down 650.
SHFE 1608 copper opened at RMB 36,010/mt on Monday and increased to RMB 36,260/mt, to end at RMB 36,260/mt, rising RMB 840/mt or 2.37%. Positions were down 5,418. Positions of all SHFE copper contracts were down 23,718 to 770,000 with trading volumes at 550,000 lots.
