China Six Rare Earth Producers to Produce 99.9% of 1st Batch Production Quota for 2016

China’s six major rare earth producers will produce 99.9% of 1st batch of rare earth production quotas for 2016.

SHANGHAI, Apr. 8 (SMM) – China’s six major rare earth producers will produce 99.9% of 1st batch of rare earth production quotas for 2016. 

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has announced the first batch of rare earth production quotas for this year, including 52,500 tonnes of rare earth mining quotas and 45,000 tonnes of rare earth smelting and separating production quotas. 

Every year, the MIIT sets two batches of annual rare earth production quotas, and in the 2nd batch of production quota, the six producers are also expected to take the predominating production proportion.  

The six producers include Aluminum Corp of China, China Northern Rare Earth (Group) High-tech, and Xiamen Tungsten China Minmetals, Guangdong Rare Earth Corp and China South Rare Earth Group.
