Tangshan spot Billet prices remain flat; Beijing spot Billet prices up

NEW YORK (Scrap Register): After  having started with such gusto, the week ground to an uneventful end on Friday  amid thin trade and lacklustre buying appetite, said the Steel Index.

An  Australian miner sold a shipment of PB Fines on a 62% Fe basis on a floating  price over the globalORE screen. Lower grade 58% Fe “LAPS” Fines also traded on  the same platform at 42 early in the afternoon.

A Brazilian miner sold  BRBF fines index-linked on the COREX trading platform after index cut-off.  

In China, the price of iron ore port stocks slipped RMB5/wmt. Spot  billet prices in Tangshan were flat, but spot rebar in Beijing rose by 10 a ton.  

The DCE iron ore futures fell almost 2% while SHFE rebar futures lost  nearly 1%. All prices US$/dmt CFR China unless stated otherwise.
