SHANGHAI, Feb. 19 (SMM) – Some lead producers in south China planned to raise TCs for lead concentrate (Pb 50%) following the just-concluded Chinese New Year holiday while those in north China will leave TCs stable, SMM understands.
Mines gradually start resuming operation this week but most medium and small smelters are to restart operation after February 22.
TCs for domestic concentrate stabilized at 2,500-2,800 yuan per tonne (Pb content) this week. And those for imported concentrate (Pb 60%, Ag < 1,000 g) were mainly at 150-160 per dry metric tonne. Trading stays quiet in market and TCs for domestic concentrate should stabilize in short run.
Profits for imported concentrate were 220 yuan per tonne (Pb content) above domestic materials, SMM estimates.
