Base metals strengthened overnight on slumping US dollar index.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 4 (SMM) – Base metals strengthened overnight on slumping US dollar index. LME zinc is expected to fluctuate between USD 1,680-1,710/mt today. SHFE 1604 zinc will consolidate at RMB 13,500-13,700/mt today.

Spot #0 zinc prices will trade RMB 180-80/mt below SHFE 1603 zinc contract prices.

Huayou Cobalt (603799.SH) announced that its controlling subsidiary, HYD, has signed a cooperation framework agreement with ANTAM and IBC. The three parties will collaborate in Indonesia around the entire industry chain of NEV batteries.
