China’s galvanized plate/sheet and coil prices rose slightly last week as supplies are still limited, SMM reports.

SHANGHAI, Jan. 4 (SMM) - China’s galvanized plate/sheet and coil prices rose slightly last week as supplies are still limited, SMM reports.

Hot- and cold-rolled products supplies in some regions are still in shortages as steel plants cut output further. Increases in galvanized plate/sheet prices in Shanghai narrowed on the nearing of New Year holiday and some end-users refraining from buying at highs. Trading was sluggish as a whole.

Prices of galvanized plate/sheet and coil should stabilize in the near term against soft demand, an SMM zinc analyst said.
