Nickel ore inventories at six major Chinese ports fell to 10.27 million tonnes last week, down 40,000 tonnes on a weekly basis, according to SMM data.

SHANGHAI, Dec. 28 (SMM) – Nickel ore inventories at six major Chinese ports fell to 10.27 million tonnes last week, down 40,000 tonnes on a weekly basis, according to SMM data.

SMM revised up ore inventories at those ports to 10.31 million tonnes in the week ending Dec. 18, as the Port of Tianjin adjusted its ore data up by 400,000 tonnes to 2,800,000 tonnes over the week.

The 40,000 mt-drop in stocks last week is due largely to fewer arrivals of ore shipments and pick-ups by domestic NPI producers near the Port of Lianyungang and Yingkou.
