SHANGHAI, Dec. 7 (SMM) – SHFE 1602 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 12,700/mt last Friday evening, and dipped to RMB 12,545/mt, but rallied at the end of trading and closed at RMB 12,595/mt, up RMB 65/mt. Trading volumes on SHFE 1602 zinc contracts were 315,000 lots, and total positions decreased 4,654 to 232,000.
SHFE 1602 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 12,595/mt on Monday, then hovered around RMB 12,660/mt. As a large number of shorts left the market in the afternoon, SHFE 1602 zinc rallied to the 20-day moving average and closed the day at RMB 12,830/mt, up RMB 300/mt or 2.39%. Trading volumes of SHFE 1602 zinc contracts declined 115,000 to 630,000 lots, with total positions down 9,836 to 227,000. Total positions on SHFE zinc declined 19,000.
