NEW YORK (Scrap Register): United  States shredded scrap prices stayed flat during the week ended November 20,  while major US aluminum scrap commodities weekly average prices on Scrap  Register Price Index stayed flat.

According  to TSI, US Midwest weekly shredded index remained flat the week at $166 a long  ton (delivered mill). Small parcels were concluded midmonth at sideways prices  as the market looked towards December buy-week.

Recent strength in the  Turkish import market does not seem to have changed the overarching sentiment in  domestic markets too much, especially considering Turkish mills have now largely  retreated from the market.

The major aluminum scrap commodities on the  Scrap Register Price Index stayed stable during the week. The weekly average  scrap prices of 356 Auto Wheels, 5052 Alum Clip, 6061 Alum Extrusion, 6063  Extrusion, Alum Litho Sheets, Alum Old Sheet, Alum Rad with Iron, Alum Radiator,  Alum Transformer, Alum Transmission, Alum Turning and Mix Alum Casting remained  flat during the week.

[SMM Nickel Flash] This week, due to a sharp decline in futures triggering arbitrage selling, high-grade NPI prices fell significantly. However, after the selling activity subsided, upstream quotations and the market center gradually returned to normal levels, supported by cost factors. Looking ahead, as the Chinese New Year holiday approaches, market activity is expected to remain subdued, and high-grade NPI prices are projected to hover at highs with limited fluctuations.
